Midland, Texas – Alexandria Louise Rose, affectionately known as Alex, Mimi, or Sandra, passed away on August 30, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on October 20, 1933, in Quincy, Illinois, she was preceded in death by her son Steve Rose and several family members.

Alex dedicated over four decades to education and counseling, serving with Midland Independent School District and Dallas ISD. She was a pillar in the community, volunteering with various organizations such as the Midland Rape Crisis Center and the Alzheimer’s Association. Alex’s passion for music led her to support local arts organizations and contribute her talents in the Midland Symphony Orchestra.

An avid walker and runner, Alex co-founded the Midland Walkabout Volkssport Association and completed marathons in renowned cities like Boston and New York. She was also deeply committed to her family, including her children, grandchildren, and extended family members.

A visitation will be held on September 5, 2025, at Ellis Funeral Home, followed by a rosary. The funeral mass will take place on September 6, 2025, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, with a committal to follow at Ellis Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park. Pallbearers for the service include family members and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Midland Rape Crisis and Children’s Advocacy Center. Alex will be remembered for her devotion to education, family, and community, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.
