Rep. August Pfluger, who represents Texas’ 11th district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform on September 3, 2025, to address several issues affecting both Texans and the broader national community.
In a post published at 14:24 UTC, Pfluger criticized criminal justice policies in Washington D.C., stating, “As Chairman of @RepublicanStudy, I joined my colleagues in calling out the soft-on-crime policies that have made our nation’s capital a safe haven for criminals. Texans visiting DC should be welcomed to a clean, safe, and beautiful city. Thanks to @POTUS, law and order is being”.
Later that day at 15:06 UTC, he acknowledged efforts by Texas Governor Greg Abbott to extend assistance for those affected by recent flooding: “Grateful Governor @GregAbbott_TX secured more time for Texans who were impacted by the floods of July 4th to apply for FEMA assistance. The deadline is now Sept. 28 for 10 counties. If you need help applying, please contact my office or visit https://t.co/2F4ZgzMc0x”.
At 15:21 UTC on the same day, Pfluger paid tribute to members of the Texas National Guard who responded during these floods: “It was with immense pride that I spoke on the House floor to honor two extraordinary Texas National Guard units that did not hesitate to jump into action on the morning of July 4th as floodwaters devastated parts of Central and West Texas. Their service will not be forgotten.”
August Pfluger has served as a member of Congress since replacing Mike Conaway in 2021 and currently holds office as representative for Texas’ 11th district. He won his seat in the November 2020 general election against Jon Mark Hogg with nearly eighty percent of the vote.
