On August 6, 2025, Rep. Pfluger addressed an incident at Fort Steward base in Georgia, stating: “Tragic news from Fort Steward base in Georgia. I’m thankful for the swift action of the first responders and medical personnel on base, and that the lockdown has officially been lifted because of their efforts.
Join me in praying for the soldiers wounded in this horrific act.” The post highlighted gratitude for emergency response teams and called for support for those affected.

August Pfluger succeeded Mike Conaway as representative of Texas’s 11th district after winning nearly 80% of the vote against Jon Mark Hogg in the 2020 general election. He has served continuously since taking office in January 2021.
