Representative August Pfluger, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’s 11th District since 2021, recently shared a series of updates on social media addressing significant events affecting his constituents and the nation. Pfluger, born in Houston in 1978 and currently residing in San Angelo, replaced former Congressman Mike Conaway.
On July 11, 2025, Pfluger expressed gratitude for being included in a visit to Kerrville with President Biden and Texas Governor Greg Abbott. He wrote: “I am thankful that @POTUS and @GregAbbott_TX invited me to join them in Kerrville today. Texas has experienced unimaginable tragedy over the past week, and I have been blown away by how the community has come together in these difficult times.”
On July 13, 2025, Pfluger marked the anniversary of an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. In his post he stated: “Today marks one year since the assassination attempt on President Trump’s life. On that summer afternoon in Pennsylvania, an assassin’s bullet nearly changed the course of history. I am thankful that, by the grace of God, President Trump survived this egregious act of political”.
Later on July 13, 2025, Pfluger addressed ongoing severe weather conditions affecting several counties within his district. He warned residents about road closures due to flooding: “Due to heavy rainfall this weekend, there are several highways and roads that are closed due to rising floodwaters. Counties impacted across Texas-11 are: San Saba, Mills, Lampasas, Bell, McCulloch, Kimble, Menard, Mason, and Llano.”
August Pfluger continues to serve as a representative for Texas’s 11th District from his home base in San Angelo.
