August Pfluger commemorates local tragedy and national milestones in recent posts

Rep. August Pfluger, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 11th district since 2021, recently used his social media platform to commemorate significant events and express support for American workers.

On August 31, 2025, Pfluger reflected on the anniversary of a mass shooting in West Texas, stating, “Today marks six years since seven innocent people lost their lives, and several others were injured, in a horrific mass shooting in the Permian Basin. The following day, September 1, 2025—Labor Day—he posted a message recognizing American workers: “This Labor Day, I am proud to stand alongside all American workers who provide for their families and contribute to our economy. On September 2, 2025, Pfluger marked a historical milestone with another post: “Today marks the 80th anniversary since Japan surrendered to the United States, officially ending World War II. August Pfluger succeeded Mike Conaway as representative of Texas’s 11th District after winning the seat in November 2020 with nearly 80% of the vote against Jon Mark Hogg. Since entering Congress in January 2021, he has been active on issues relevant to both local constituents and national audiences.
