Rep. August Pfluger, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 11th district since 2021, posted a series of statements on October 9, 2025, addressing recent political developments and international affairs.

In his first post on October 9, 2025, Pfluger commented on the ongoing government shutdown debate: “Democrats are having a complete meltdown.

@HouseGOP did our job by passing a clean Continuing Resolution that funds our government, including all federal agencies and our troops. Democrats need to come to their senses and open the government.”

Later the same day, Pfluger reflected on his military experience in relation to current foreign policy efforts: “I flew combat missions over Syria and Iraq. I witnessed the effects of terrorism firsthand.

@POTUS’ Gaza Peace Deal is a critical step in building trust with countries in the Middle East and bringing all hostages home. This is a HISTORIC moment for the world.”

In another statement posted on October 9, 2025, he addressed concerns about servicemembers during the government shutdown: “Our brave men and women serving in uniform shouldn’t worry about when their next paycheck is coming.

Democrats are openly admitting that they’re perfectly fine with keeping the government shutdown at the expense of our servicemembers.

This is the modern-day Democrat party “

August Pfluger began serving as representative for Texas’s 11th District after winning the seat in 2020 against Jon Mark Hogg with nearly 80% of the vote. He succeeded Mike Conaway in Congress and has held office since January 2021.
