Rep. August Pfluger, a U.S. representative for Texas’s 11th Congressional District and former Air Force officer, posted a series of statements on social media expressing support for American fighter pilots involved in a recent incident overseas.

On April 3, 2026, Pfluger wrote, “My prayers are with these two fighter pilots, their loved ones, and all of our courageous American heroes serving overseas. As the search continues for the second pilot, I have full confidence in our outstanding recovery teams. We will never leave an American behind.”

Later that day, he added, “Our pilots and recovery forces are the very best in the world. Their training is unmatched, and we never launch a mission without having recovery teams ready on standby. This pilot is an American warrior, and I have faith they will find him and bring him home.”

On April 5, 2026, following developments in the situation, Pfluger stated, “So proud of our joint force, and especially the highly talented rescue forces that were able to extract the Combat Systems Officer out of Iran. God Bless America and our brave warriors.”

Pfluger brings over two decades of service in the U.S. Air Force to his congressional role—including deployments to Syria and Northern Iraq—and continues as a colonel in the reserves (official website). He also serves as chairman of the Republican Study Committee and has contributed to national security legislation (official website). In addition to his military background as a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy (official website), Pfluger participates in committees focused on energy, commerce and homeland security.

As a seventh-generation Texan who grew up in San Angelo and lives with his family in Texas (official website), Pfluger’s statements reflect both personal experience within military operations and ongoing support for service members abroad.
