Rep. August Pfluger, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 11th district since 2021, used his social media platform on October 4, 2025, to address several issues ranging from government funding to agricultural support and congressional leadership.
In a post published at 16:04 UTC, Pfluger stated, “REMINDER: Senate Democrats voted to shut down the government and cut off food aid to vulnerable Americans. Over 784,000 Texans are at risk of losing their WIC benefits later this month if the government does not reopen. Families will pay the price for the Democrat-led”.
Later that day at 19:58 UTC, he shared his involvement with local agriculture by writing, “This week, I joined local producers at the Runnels County Annual Cotton Field Day to discuss innovative solutions to strengthen cotton production and support our farmers. I am always proud to stand with the hardworking agricultural producers in Texas-11 who keep our communities https://t.co/YdQzcwiJJm”.
At 20:07 UTC on the same day, Pfluger also extended birthday wishes and recognition to a colleague: “Happy Birthday, @RepMarkAlford! Grateful for your leadership as @RepublicanStudy’s Messaging Task Force Chair. https://t.co/kgrEDNz3ZL”.
August Pfluger began serving in Congress after winning the general election in 2020 against Jon Mark Hogg with nearly 80% of the vote. He succeeded Mike Conaway as representative for Texas’ 11th district and has focused on issues such as agriculture and federal assistance programs during his tenure.
