Rep. August Pfluger, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 11th district since 2021, recently shared updates on social media ranging from community events to national policy concerns.

On September 8, 2025, Pfluger posted about participating in a local baseball event: “I had a fantastic time throwing the first pitch at Saturday’s Midland @RockHounds game.

The RockHounds dedicated the game to all of the Texas flood victims and I was proud to be there for it. Always proud to represent the Permian Basin and the RockHound team in Congress!” This post highlighted his involvement with the Midland RockHounds and his ongoing support for constituents affected by recent flooding.

Later that day, Pfluger addressed public safety concerns related to criminal justice policies: “This criminal was arrested 14 times and should never have been on the train in the first place.

This horrific attack was completely preventable and is yet another example of how cashless bail is a disastrous policy.” The statement underscored his criticism of cashless bail systems following a violent incident involving a repeat offender.

On September 9, 2025, Pfluger turned attention to emerging security threats: “Terrorist organizations are exploiting artificial intelligence to spread propaganda and recruit and radicalize lone wolf actors.

Congress must pass my Generative AI Terrorism Risk Assessment Act to respond to the emerging threats of tomorrow. Read more:” He called for legislative action regarding AI’s role in terrorism recruitment efforts.

August Pfluger has represented Texas’s 11th District since succeeding Mike Conaway in 2021 after winning nearly 80% of the vote against Jon Mark Hogg in the 2020 general election. His recent posts reflect both engagement with local issues—such as supporting flood victims—and national legislative priorities including public safety reforms and counterterrorism measures using technology.
