Rep. August Pfluger, U.S. representative for Texas’s 11th Congressional District and chairman of the Republican Study Committee, announced legislative updates and welcomed a new colleague in a series of social media posts on April 15 and 16, 2026.
On April 15, Pfluger highlighted changes to tax policy affecting family farms and ranches: “Family-owned farms and ranches will no longer be faced with the unfair Death Tax! The Republican-led Working Families Tax Cuts doubles this exemption to $15 million for individuals and $30 million for married couples. Read more in @SanAngeloLIVE here: https://t.co/gg3CxbG5hF”.
The following day, Pfluger shared news about environmental legislation passed by the House: “The U.S. House just passed my FENCES Act. American businesses and workers should not be unfairly penalized for pollution beyond their control. The FENCES Act fixes this by ensuring foreign emissions and natural events are not counted against air monitoring data.”
Later on April 16, he posted a welcome message to a fellow lawmaker: “Welcome, @RepClayFuller! https://t.co/13hL5JnHLs”.
Pfluger brings over two decades of military experience as a colonel in the Air Force reserves after serving deployments in Syria and Northern Iraq (official website). He is also noted for his leadership roles within Congress, including chairing the U.S. Air Force Academy Board of Visitors and contributing to national security legislation. Raised in San Angelo as part of a seventh-generation Texas family, Pfluger supports community initiatives ranging from art competitions to federal agency assistance.
