Rep. August Pfluger, who represents Texas’ 11th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on social media between October 13 and 14, 2025, marking significant events and sharing personal news.
On October 13, Rep. Pfluger acknowledged the anniversary of the United States Navy, stating, “Happy 250th birthday to the @USNavy! Thank you to all the brave sailors who have fought to defend our freedoms. “
Later that day, he commented on Columbus Day, writing, “On Columbus Day, we celebrate the voyage and discovery of America by Christopher Columbus. May we always remember the courage, faith, and grit of Columbus’ expedition to the New World.”
On October 14, Rep. Pfluger shared a personal message about a family loss: “We are very sad about the passing of my grandfather, Robert Pfluger. He was an incredible man and a leader in so many ways. We will miss him dearly. His contagious laugh, his inquisitive mind, and his love of history!”
August Pfluger has served in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Mike Conaway. He won his seat in the 2020 general election by defeating Jon Mark Hogg with nearly 80% of the vote. Pfluger continues to represent Texas’s 11th district in the U.S. House of Representatives.
