On July 29, 2025, Rep. Pfluger posted: “Horrible news this evening. We are praying for the loved ones of the NYPD officer whose life was taken by a violent criminal.”

August Pfluger has served as U.S. Representative for Texas’s 11th District since replacing Mike Conaway in 2021. He won his seat in Congress after defeating Jon Mark Hogg in the 2020 general election with nearly 80% of the vote.
