Rep. August Pfluger, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 11th district since 2021, recently shared updates on social media about his community engagement and perspectives on national defense.

On September 29, 2025, Rep. Pfluger posted about a visit to a local fast-food restaurant: “I had a great time Friday morning working alongside employees at the @McDonalds in Midland, serving constituents, and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the breakfast rush! A big thank you to the McDonalds team for welcoming me in and to everyone who stopped by!”

The following day, he commented on remarks from Secretary Hegseth regarding military priorities: “This morning’s speech from @SecWar was inspiring. Our military’s mission must focus on lethality and equipping our warfighters. That is exactly the clear-eyed vision Secretary Hegseth and President Trump are delivering. I encourage every single American to watch it.” This post was made on September 30, 2025.

Later that same day, Rep. Pfluger followed up with another statement emphasizing changes in military leadership: “WATCH IN FULL: This morning, @SecWar delivered a powerful address outlining his vision to restore the warrior ethos at the @DeptofWar. The days of pushing toxic ideological nonsense that only weakens our military are officially over.”

August Pfluger began serving in Congress after defeating Jon Mark Hogg in the 2020 general election with nearly 80% of the vote and succeeded Mike Conaway as representative for Texas’s 11th district.
