Rep. August Pfluger, who represents Texas’ 11th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on September 17, 2025, addressing concerns about China’s role in global telecommunications and expressing support for truck drivers in Texas.

In his first tweet, Pfluger raised concerns regarding China’s upcoming role as host of an international conference: “China is set to host the 2027 World Radiocommunication Conference, posing a serious threat to U.S. national security. I look forward to working with the Administration and my colleagues in Congress to counter China’s influence in global telecommunications.” (September 17, 2025)

He also highlighted bipartisan efforts within Congress: “I was proud to lead this effort alongside my friends and colleagues @RepMikeLawler, @RepBalderson, @RepBuddyCarter, @RepKeithSelf, @RepHouchin, @RepMMM, @RepKatCammack, @RepMGriffith, @CongressmanKean, @RepSheriBiggs, and Rep. In another post recognizing essential workers during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, Pfluger wrote: “I am thrilled to be celebrating National Truck Driver Appreciation Week! In Texas, 1 out of every 14 individuals is employed by the trucking industry. I am grateful for everyone who moves the food, fiber, and fuel being produced in Texas-11 throughout the country.” (September 17, 2025)

August Pfluger has served as a member of Congress representing Texas’s 11th District since replacing Mike Conaway in 2021. He won his seat after defeating Jon Mark Hogg in the general election with nearly eighty percent of the vote.
