Rep. August Pfluger, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 11th district, has been active on social media addressing various issues and engagements. On June 9, 2025, he expressed his views regarding the ongoing riots in Los Angeles and shared updates about his legislative efforts.

On June 9, 2025, Rep. Pfluger addressed the violent riots occurring in Los Angeles by attributing them to border policies. He stated: “Make no mistake, the violent riots in LA are happening because Democrats left our border wide open for these criminals to enter.” He urged Congress to pass the OBBB to fund measures such as a border wall and additional personnel including ICE agents and customs officers.

Later that day, Rep. Pfluger shared a positive encounter with constituents from Odessa after their tour of the U.S. Capitol. He tweeted: “Great meeting with the James Family from Odessa after their U.S. Capitol tour today!”

In another post dated June 10, 2025, Rep. Pfluger expressed gratitude towards Chairman @RepJamesComer for supporting his legislation aimed at securing voting rights in Washington D.C.: “Thankful for Chairman @RepJamesComer’s support of my legislation.” The bill seeks to ensure that only American citizens can vote in D.C., and he called upon his colleagues for support on this matter.

August Pfluger was born in Houston, Texas in 1978 and currently resides in San Angelo. He succeeded Mike Conaway as a representative of Texas’ 11th District in Congress starting from 2021.
