Midland, TX – Dean Jernigan Deerfield, a beloved member of the Midland community known for her creative talents and unwavering generosity, passed away at the age of 91. Born in Simms, Texas to Newt and Francis (McKnight) Jernigan, Dean leaves behind a legacy of love and creativity.
Dean’s passion for artistry shone through in her award-winning Crazy Quilts and her mastery of pottery, ceramics, painting, and various crafts. A dedicated member of the Midland Quilt Guild, she shared her talents with many and touched countless lives through her teaching and generosity.
Dean’s memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Midland. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and the community she enriched with her creativity and love.
