Midland, Texas – Freda Sue (Dial) Benton, age 84, of Midland, passed away on August 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 6, 1940, in Leola, Arkansas, Freda’s life was marked by her commitment to family, faith, and friendship, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Following her education at Henderson State University, Freda married her high school sweetheart and devoted herself to raising two sons and supporting her husband through his service in Vietnam. At a later stage in life, she pursued her passion for teaching, serving as an educator at various elementary schools in Lawton, Oklahoma, instilling her love for learning and helping shape young minds.
Upon retiring in 1999, Freda moved to Midland to be close to her grandchildren, embracing her role as a dedicated grandmother and great-grandmother with unwavering love and joy. She cherished her family above all else, embodying the values of kindness, faith, and friendship in all aspects of her life.
Survived by her husband of 65 years, Frank Benton, and her sons Greg and Todd Benton, along with their families, Freda leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to family. Her warm spirit and generous heart touched the lives of many and created lasting connections with those fortunate enough to call her friend.
Remembered for her deep faith, unwavering love, and dedication to those she held dear, Freda will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will live on through her family, friends, and the lives she touched with her kindness and compassion.
