On September 10, 1926, George Herman O’Brien Jr. was born in Fort Worth, Texas. He grew up, graduated, and served in the Marine Corps. After heroic actions in the Korean War, he received the Medal of Honor. Returning to Texas, he raised a family and contributed to veterans’ services. On March 11, 2005, he passed away in Midland, Texas.
