Midland, Texas – Jose Martinez Salgado, 76, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2025. Born in Candelaria, Texas, Jose was a dedicated husband to his wife, Anita Salgado, for 40 years. He is survived by his brothers, Frank “Kiko” Salgado and William Salgado, and his sister, Linda Garcia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jose worked at Butts Recycling and shared his passion for recycling with those around him. Known for his infectious spirit and love of laughter, Jose enjoyed bringing joy to others through humor and playful antics. He cherished time with his family, finding happiness in music, dancing, and creating lasting memories together.
Visitation will take place on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Ellis Funeral Home, followed by a rosary. The funeral mass will be held on September 9, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish & Shrine, with committal to follow. Pallbearers will include Felix Valdez, Homer Lopez, Eric Castro, Ricky Ray Castro, Gilbert Brown, and Charles Brown.
Jose will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, love for his family, and ability to bring laughter wherever he went. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew him.
