Midland, Texas – Judith Carolyn Martin, fondly known as Judy, unexpectedly departed from her earthly home on August 29, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on September 28, 1943, in Wilmer, Arkansas, Judy was the fourth daughter of Woodrow and Lucille Kulbeth and later found joy and purpose in her teaching career and interior decorating business.

After graduating from The University of North Texas, Judy dedicated many years to teaching at Jane Long Elementary in Midland, impacting the lives of her students with compassion and dedication. In 1973, she found love and companionship when she met and married Bud Martin, sharing a beautiful marriage filled with love until his passing in 2021.

Transitioning from teaching to interior decorating, Judy showcased her creativity and talent, transforming spaces into beautiful environments for clients and friends alike. Her passion for her work was evident in every project, and she brought joy and beauty to those around her through her designs.

Judy’s legacy will be forever cherished by her daughter, Jennifer Martin Turney, grandchildren Walker Turney and Emily Turney Harbuck, great-grandchildren Nina Turney, Olivia Harbuck, Millie Harbuck, and Barrett Harbuck. She is also survived by her brother Larry Kulbeth, sister-in-law Kathy Kulbeth, nieces, nephews, and her close friend and caregiver Josie Sandoval.

Remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family, Judy’s spirit of love and zest for life will remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. In honor of her memory, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of choice, reflecting Judy’s spirit of giving and kindness.
