Ka Sin “Cassie” Leung, born on June 9, 1981, in Hong Kong, was a devoted wife to the late Hon Yin Cheung and a loving mother to their four daughters. Following the passing of her husband, a prominent Hong Kong pro-democracy activist, Cassie bravely raised her children while seeking safety for her family. With the assistance of the China Aid Association and the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan, she and her daughters obtained U.S. refugee status in early 2025 and settled in Midland, Texas, where they found a warm and welcoming community.

Tragically, Cassie’s life was cut short just as she began a new chapter in the United States, after recently receiving her driver’s license and starting a new job. She is remembered fondly by her four daughters, extended family in Hong Kong, and the many friends and church communities in Taiwan and the U.S. who held her dear.

A private family viewing will be held on Friday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to ChinaAid to support Cassie’s daughters’ care and future. Cassie’s legacy of courage and resilience will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.

Arrangements for services are being handled by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland, Texas. Contributions in memory of Cassie can be made through the Tribute Store.
