Midland, TX – Yvonne Brooks, a beloved long-time resident of Midland, Texas, passed away on May 12, 2026. Born on December 2, 1937, Yvonne was a dedicated individual who touched the lives of many through her work, volunteerism, and commitment to her faith.
Yvonne married Harold Don Brooks in 1962, with whom she shared a love that extended to both their families. Throughout her career, Yvonne worked tirelessly for over 41 years at The Atlantic Refining Company, dedicating her time in various departments before eventually retiring in 1994. Her passion for service extended beyond her professional life, as she also dedicated herself to volunteering at Midland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and various ministries within the Golf Course Road Church of Christ.
She is survived by her sons, grandsons, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who knew her as an inspiration and source of encouragement. Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, and several in-laws.
A memorial service to celebrate Yvonne Brooks’ life will be held at Nalley Pickle-Welch Funeral Home on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM, followed by a light lunch buffet. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Midland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary are welcomed.
