Congressman August Pfluger of Texas’ 11th district has joined Speaker Mike Johnson in supporting a congressional resolution to honor Charlie Kirk, following Kirk’s assassination. The resolution condemns the killing as an act of domestic terrorism and calls for swift justice.
“The brutal assassination of Charlie Kirk is a direct assault on conservative voices and the constitutional rights we hold sacred. We will not be silenced or intimidated by this act of domestic terrorism. I commend Speaker Johnson for his unwavering leadership in advancing this resolution that demands justice and honors a true American patriot who died defending the principles that built this nation,” said Rep. Pfluger. “Charlie Kirk was a man of unwavering conviction who lived out his faith while fearlessly championing American values. He was murdered for speaking the truth, and those who killed him have only hardened our resolve to speak louder for the conservative movement he died defending.”
August Pfluger has represented Texas’ 11th district in Congress since 2021, after succeeding Mike Conaway. In the 2020 general election, Pfluger won against Jon Mark Hogg with nearly 80% of the vote.
The full text of the resolution is available online, along with additional coverage from The Daily Signal.
