Rep. August Pfluger, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 11th district since 2021, recently addressed issues related to cashless bail policies and commemorated the anniversary of the Abbey Gate attack in Afghanistan through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On August 25, 2025, Pfluger expressed concerns about bail reform measures: “Cashless bail is essentially the same as no bail at all, allowing violent criminals to walk free before their trial date. President Trump’s move to eliminate cashless bail is another step toward ending the out-of-control crime spree that has terrorized our nation’s capital.” He reiterated his support for actions taken against such policies later that day, stating: “President Trump was right to crack down on ‘cashless bail’ by revoking federal funds and grants from areas that support it. Thankfully, Texans don’t have to worry about this, as our state legislature led the way and eliminated this nonsensical and dangerous policy earlier this”.
The following day, Pfluger shifted focus to military affairs with a post marking four years since the Abbey Gate bombing during the withdrawal from Afghanistan: “Four years ago today, 13 innocent U.S. service members lost their lives at Abbey Gate during the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. Our nation is still grieving their loss. We will never forget their service and sacrifice.”
August Pfluger succeeded Mike Conaway in Congress after winning the 2020 general election with nearly 80% of the vote against Jon Mark Hogg. He has served as representative for Texas’s 11th District since January 2021.
