Rep. August Pfluger, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 11th district since 2021, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing crime in Washington D.C., border security under the current administration, and his new role as Chairman of the Air Force Academy Board of Visitors.

On August 11, 2025, Rep. Pfluger commented on public safety in the nation’s capital: “For years, liberal soft-on-crime policies have devastated countless innocent families and individuals in our nation’s capital—with D.C. ranking among the most dangerous cities in America. Thankfully, these policies end now. I commend President Trump for making DC safe again.”

The following day, August 12, he referenced data from Customs and Border Protection regarding immigration enforcement: “.@CBP reports illegal crossings have fallen to record lows once again under @POTUS. Border security will always be national security. Another promise made and kept! “

On August 13, Rep. Pfluger highlighted his leadership position at the Air Force Academy: “I am truly humbled to serve as Chairman of @af_academy Board of Visitors. As the new Chairman, I had a great visit to USAFA with fellow Board members @charliekirk11 and @RepDonDavis to discuss the board’s role in ensuring the Academy is properly equipped to build up mission-ready”

August Pfluger assumed office after winning the general election in 2020 by a significant margin over Jon Mark Hogg and replaced Mike Conaway in Congress beginning in 2021. He continues to represent Texas’ 11th district while taking on roles related to national defense and policy oversight.
