Rep. August Pfluger, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 11th district since 2021, shared his thoughts and updates regarding the recent flood disaster affecting Camp Mystic and its surrounding areas through a series of tweets.
On July 4, 2025, Rep. Pfluger expressed his condolences to those affected by the flood. He stated, “Please continue to pray for those who are unaccounted for. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this terrible flood, especially the Camp Mystic family.”
The following day, on July 5, he acknowledged the actions taken by local authorities in response to the disaster. In his tweet, he mentioned being “Thankful for the emergency declaration by the Governor.” He also highlighted ongoing collaboration with federal agencies to bolster resource allocation.
Later that day, Rep. Pfluger shared a personal update about his family’s safety amid the crisis. He tweeted about reuniting with his family members who were evacuated from Camp Mystic: “Camille, Vivian and I are now reunited with Caroline and Juliana who were evacuated from Camp Mystic.” He also expressed gratitude towards first responders and conveyed sympathy for families experiencing loss due to the floods.
August Pfluger was born in Houston, Texas in 1978 and currently resides in San Angelo.
