On July 6, 2025, Rep. Pfluger expressed his condolences for Camp Mystic’s Dick Eastland, stating “Camp Mystic’s Dick Eastland no doubt gave his life attempting to save his campers.” He praised Mr. Eastland and his wife Tweety for their dedication to nurturing young women of character over the years.
Later that day, he tweeted about the ongoing support efforts following the tragedy: “Camille and I are praying for everyone affected by this tragedy.” He extended gratitude to first responders and acknowledged numerous heroes who acted bravely during the incident.
On July 7, 2025, Rep. Pfluger provided an update after touring affected areas with local officials: “I toured a hard-hit part of the San Angelo community with TGC Judge Lane Carter and San Angelo Mayor Tom Thompson.” He described the devastation caused by flooding and emphasized ongoing advocacy for necessary resources to aid recovery efforts.
