Rep. August Pfluger, who represents Texas’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on legislative achievements and upcoming community events through a series of posts on his social media account.

On August 14, 2025, Rep. Pfluger announced: “My office will be holding Service Academy Nights in Midland and Killeen later this month. This is a wonderful opportunity for students, parents, and educators to learn about the opportunities for students at U.S. Service Academies. Event information is available on my website”. The event aims to provide information to prospective students and their families about attending U.S. Service Academies.

Later that day, Rep. Pfluger commented on the signing of new legislation: “I am thrilled that @POTUS just signed the ACES Act into law. This legislation is more than just a bill—it’s a lifeline and a message to every pilot who has put on the uniform to protect our skies that we will fight to protect their health in return.”

The following day, he reflected further on the legislation’s significance: “The ACES Act was signed into law by @POTUS yesterday. Since coming to Congress, this legislation has been my top priority, and it is deeply personal to me. I introduced this bill in honor of my good friend and wingman, Colonel Shurtleff, who recently lost his life in a battle”.

August Pfluger began serving as representative for Texas’s 11th district after winning the 2020 general election with nearly 80% of the vote against Jon Mark Hogg (Fact 1). He succeeded Mike Conaway in January 2021 (Fact 2), marking his first term in Congress (Fact 3).
