Rep. August Pfluger, who represents Texas’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently addressed concerns about the state of the U.S. Air Force and commented on a developing incident in Michigan.

On March 11, 2026, Pfluger posted: “Today, our Air Force remains unmatched in capability but has the oldest aircraft and the smallest force in its history due to decades of underinvestment. This is even more alarming as conflict intensifies in Iran. We need a major revamp in our Air Force — ASAP.” He followed up with another message on the same day: “Read my latest in the @PostOpinions, where I outline how we got here, and provide my four solutions for how the United States must triage and refocus investments in American Airpower.”

The following day, on March 12, Pfluger responded to reports from Michigan: “Devastating reports of an active shooter at a synagogue in Michigan. Please join me in praying for everyone involved, including those inside the synagogue, as well as the law enforcement officers and first responders at the scene.”

August Pfluger has served Texas’s 11th District since replacing Mike Conaway in 2021. He was elected after defeating Jon Mark Hogg with nearly 80% of the vote during the 2020 general election. Born in Houston in 1978, he currently resides in San Angelo.
