Congressman August Pfluger, who represents Texas’ 11th district in the U.S. Congress, held a town hall meeting in Sterling City on September 30, 2025. The event was organized to update constituents about his activities in Washington and to discuss concerns regarding a possible government shutdown.

During the meeting, Congressman Pfluger recognized Sterling County Sheriff Russell Irby and the entire Sheriff’s Office with a Congressional Certificate for their efforts in rescuing a missing two-year-old child.

Pfluger addressed attendees by stating: “Hosting town halls across Texas-11 will always be a priority of mine to better serve the amazing individuals who call this place home. As we work to win back our country in Washington, these town halls will continue to serve as excellent opportunities for me to provide firsthand updates and to hear your ideas, concerns, and feedback. Texas-11 is the best place to live and raise a family, and I am committed to protecting our values and way of life in Congress. If you are ever in need of assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to my office.”

August Pfluger has served as representative for Texas’ 11th District since 2021 after succeeding Mike Conaway. In the 2020 general election, he won against Jon Mark Hogg with nearly 80 percent of the vote.
