Rep. August Pfluger, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 11th district since 2021, addressed recent events and commemorations in a series of posts on September 11, 2025.

In a post dated September 11, 2025, Pfluger shared news about the death of Charlie Kirk: “Today, the U.S. Air Force Academy Board of Visitors lost a dear friend and colleague, Charlie Kirk, after he was murdered in a horrific act of political violence. Last month, we had the opportunity to meet with Charlie at our Board meeting in Colorado. He was committed to”.

Later that day, Pfluger marked the anniversary of the September 11 attacks with another message: “On the 24th anniversary of 9/11, we pause to remember the thousands of innocent lives lost in the horrific terror attack on our nation. We will never forget the sacrifice of our first responders and the American patriotism that surfaced. As a member of @HomelandGOP, I am”.

He also commented on ongoing security concerns: “It has been 24 years since 9/11, and the threat to the homeland has only become more dangerous and dynamic. Freedom isn’t free. We must remain vigilant in our fight to prevent such a tragedy from ever happening again. Read my latest in @FoxNewsOpinion:”.

August Pfluger succeeded Mike Conaway as representative for Texas’s 11th district following his victory over Jon Mark Hogg in the general election held in November 2020; he secured nearly eighty percent of votes cast ([source](https://ballotpedia.org/August_Pfluger)). Pfluger has served continuously since taking office in January 2021.
