Rep. August Pfluger, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 11th district since 2021, recently shared his views on a range of topics via social media posts. His messages address significant issues such as tax policy, international relations, and historical commemorations.

On June 5, 2025, Rep. Pfluger expressed concerns about potential tax increases for residents in Texas’ 11th district if certain tax cuts expire. He stated, “In TX-11, the average tax increase would be $2,652 if President Trump’s tax cuts expire. We must pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act to prevent the largest tax increase in history.”

Later that day, Rep. Pfluger reflected on his participation at an event held by the Israel Allies Foundation to commemorate Jerusalem Day. He emphasized his stance against violence and expressed solidarity with Israel following recent attacks: “Grateful to speak at the Israel Allies Foundation’s Jerusalem Day event yesterday. The violent hatred that has been allowed to proliferate since the October 7 attacks is unacceptable. Standing with Israel and the entire Jewish community is more important now than ever.”

On June 6, 2025, he took a moment to honor a pivotal historical event from World War II—the D-Day invasion of Normandy—acknowledging its significance in changing the course of history: “On June 6, 1944, Allied Forces stormed Normandy’s Beaches to fight for freedom and liberate Europe from tyranny. This battle changed the course of World War II, leading to the collapse of the Axis powers.” He concluded with a tribute to those involved: “May we never forget the courage, sacrifice, and heroism of these.”

August Pfluger was born in Houston in 1978 and currently resides in San Angelo.
