U.S. Congressman August Pfluger and Midland Mayor Lori Blong are scheduled to hold a press conference on October 8, 2025, at the ClayDesta Plaza Atrium in Midland, Texas. The event will focus on a mineral rights issue that is currently affecting the city of Midland and its taxpayers. During the press conference, Rep. Pfluger and Mayor Blong plan to outline their strategy for addressing the matter and will answer questions from credentialed members of the media.

August Pfluger has been serving as the U.S. Representative for Texas’s 11th district since 2021, succeeding Mike Conaway. He won his seat in Congress after defeating Jon Mark Hogg in the 2020 general election, securing nearly 80% of the vote.
