Congressman August Pfluger has announced that his office will hold Service Academy Nights in Midland and Killeen. The events are intended for students, parents, and educators interested in learning about opportunities to serve at a U.S. Service Academy.

“In 1995, I sought a nomination to the U.S. Air Force Academy—a phenomenal decision that has led to more than two decades of service, including flying combat missions in the F-22. Now, nearly 30 years later, I have the honor of helping shape the next generation of military leaders by nominating outstanding young men and women to our nation’s Service Academies as a Member of Congress. If you are a student in Texas’s 11th Congressional District interested in seizing the opportunity to serve our country and attend a U.S. Service Academy, I strongly encourage you to partake in one of my office’s upcoming Service Academy Nights. Please don’t hesitate to contact my office or my Academy Liaison, Mary O’Connor, with any questions about the application process,” said Rep. Pfluger.

The Midland event is scheduled for August 27 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the University of Texas Permian Basin CEED Center (1310 North FM 1788). Registration will begin at 5:30 pm.

The Killeen event will take place on August 28 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Texas A&M University-Central Texas Bill Yowell Conference Center (1001 Leadership Place). Registration will also begin at 5:30 pm.

Questions can be directed to Congressman Pfluger’s Academy Liaison, Mary O’Connor, via email at mary.oconnor@mail.house.gov.

August Pfluger currently serves as a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 11th district since replacing Mike Conaway in 2021 (https://www.congress.gov/member/august-pfluger/P000619). He was elected after defeating Jon Mark Hogg in the general election held in 2020 with nearly eighty percent of the vote (https://ballotpedia.org/August_Pfluger).
