Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) has encouraged K-12 students in Texas’s 11th Congressional District to take part in First Lady Melania Trump’s Presidential Artificial Intelligence (AI) Challenge. In a statement released from Washington, DC, Rep. Pfluger highlighted the importance of this opportunity for students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), as well as computer science.

“The First Lady’s Presidential AI Challenge is an outstanding opportunity for students interested in STEM and computer science to showcase their skills on a national level,” said Rep. Pfluger. “AI is an exciting, transformational technology with immense potential, but it is crucial that students learn how to harness these emerging technologies safely. I am thrilled about this challenge and believe it will help ensure America’s future talent and workforce are prepared to sustain AI’s rapid progress. I encourage all students to participate in this unique opportunity to represent Texas-11 on a national stage.”

The initiative aims to inspire young people and educators to develop artificial intelligence-based solutions addressing community challenges. The challenge also seeks to foster interest and skills in AI among participants of all backgrounds as the country marks its 250th year of independence.

August Pfluger has represented Texas’s 11th district since 2021 after succeeding Mike Conaway in Congress https://ballotpedia.org/August_Pfluger. He was elected after defeating Jon Mark Hogg in the 2020 general election by a wide margin.

More information about the challenge and enrollment details can be found on the official Presidential AI Challenge website.
