On Friday, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) worked alongside employees at a McDonald’s restaurant in Midland during the breakfast rush. The event highlighted the role of franchises in Texas, where McDonald’s employs over 65,000 people across 1,220 locations.
Congressman Pfluger has supported franchise businesses throughout his time in Congress. He is a co-sponsor of the American Franchise Act, which is intended to protect franchise owners’ independence and address concerns about joint employer liability.
“I had a great time working alongside the wonderful employees at a McDonald’s in Midland, serving constituents, and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the breakfast rush! Nothing beats being back in Texas-11 with the hardworking men and women I am honored to represent in Congress,” said Rep. Pfluger. “I will always support franchises in my district and across America. A big thank you to the McDonald’s team for welcoming me in and to everyone who stopped by!”
August Pfluger began representing Texas’ 11th district in Congress after winning the general election against Jon Mark Hogg in 2020 with nearly 80% of the vote. He took office following Mike Conaway’s retirement and has served since 2021.
