Midland, Texas – Rosie Lee Nelson, 87, of Midland, Texas, passed away on May 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 6, 1938, in Dallas, Texas, Rosie, affectionately known as “Skeeta,” led a life marked by strength, loyalty, faith, and unconditional love for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A cornerstone of her family, Rosie was a devoted mother, cherished granny, loving caregiver, and faithful friend. Her warm and welcoming spirit made everyone feel loved and secure, with her infectious smile brightening any room she entered. Throughout her life, Rosie’s nurturing kindness deeply touched generations of family and friends.
A proud graduate of the Class of ’57 Carver Hornets, Rosie dedicated 57 years of loyal service to the Boldrick family, providing loving care to Suzy Boldrick and her children. The relationships she cultivated through her caregiving were built on love, trust, and lasting memories.
She was a faithful member of Greater St. Luke AME Church, where she served as an usher. Rosie took pride in extending grace, warmth, and love to all who entered the house of the Lord. Her strong faith guided her care for others and remained a constant presence in her life.
Rosie is survived by her children, Mollie Ball, Terry Nelson, and Worthy Nelson, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored. Preceding her in death was her beloved mother, Cora Lee Nelson.
Rosie’s legacy of love, strength, faith, and unwavering kindness will endure through the lives she touched and the memories she created with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her servant’s heart, steadfast faith, radiant smile, and the boundless love she shared with those around her.
