The Midland Development Corp. (MDC) has launched a small business assistance funding program for Midland businesses that have taken a hit due to the COVID-19 crisis.

The MDC has teamed with Community National Bank to grant up to $1 million in funding. Eligible small businesses will receive loans of up to $25,000.

Applications for the program are now being accepted beginning. To qualify for the Small Business Assistance Program, businesses must meet a set of eligibility requirements.

Publicly traded and government-operated businesses aren't eligible, as are nonprofit organizations or recipients of federal funding under the CARES Act or SBA Paycheck Protection Program. Moreover, if the company is a part of the mining, quarrying, or oil industries, part of the real estate industry, or if has received funding from MDC, then the business isn't eligible for the Small Business Assistance Program.
