American Cancer Society issued the following announcement on Nov. 6
We are sending Al Roker our thoughts and well wishes as he faces his prostate cancer diagnosis. About 1 in 7 Black men, and 1 in 9 American men overall, will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in American men, behind only lung cancer.
As is often the case in the cancer diagnosis of a public figure, we do not have full information, so any comment on his condition or treatment would be speculative.
