There were 293 students enrolled in Glasscock County ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.9% of them were boys, and 48.1% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were white, representing 58% of the Glasscock County ISD total enrollment.

Glasscock County ISD roughly covers schools within Glasscock County with its main office in Garden City.

Among the two schools in Glasscock County ISD, Garden City High School recorded the highest enrollment of 154 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
