2022: 32 coaches at institutions in Ector County earned on average $43,792

Ector County’s 32 coaches earned an average salary of $43,792 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 29th lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at Texas post-secondary schools during 2022.

Ector County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, The University of Texas Permian Basin stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $50,919.

Male coaches of men's teams received $52,008 on average in Ector County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $40,326.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
