There were 505 students enrolled in Mccamey ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 54.1% of them were girls, and 45.9% were boys.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 78.4% of the Mccamey ISD total enrollment.

Mccamey ISD roughly covers schools within Upton County with its main office in Mccamey.

Among the three schools in Mccamey ISD, McCamey Primary School recorded the highest enrollment of 209 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
