Enrollment Analysis: Hispanic students comprised 34.7% of ComPASS Academy Charter School District's student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 486 Hispanic students enrolled in ComPASS Academy Charter School District in the 2022-23 school year, 2.3% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that ComPASS Academy Charter School District welcomed 1,399 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 34.7% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

ComPASS Academy Charter School District roughly covers schools within Ector County and has a main office in Odessa.

Compass Academy Charter School was the only school in the district which enrolled Hispanic students, welcoming 486 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
