ComPASS Academy Charter School District Education: 22 African American students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 22 African American students enrolled in ComPASS Academy Charter School District in the 2022-23 school year, 15.4% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that ComPASS Academy Charter School District welcomed 1,399 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, African American students comprised 1.6% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

ComPASS Academy Charter School District roughly covers schools within Ector County and has a main office in Odessa.

Compass Academy Charter School was the only school in the district which enrolled African American students, welcoming 22 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
