There were 46 white students enrolled in Seagraves ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 4.2% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Seagraves ISD schools welcomed 505 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 9.1% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Seagraves ISD roughly covers schools within Gaines County and has a main office in Seagraves.

Seagraves Schools was the only school in the district which enrolled white students, welcoming 46 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
