How many Hispanic students were enrolled in Glasscock County ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 127 Hispanic students enrolled in Glasscock County ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.3% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Glasscock County ISD schools welcomed 295 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 43.1% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Glasscock County ISD roughly covers schools within Glasscock County and has a main office in Garden City.

Among the two schools in Glasscock County ISD schools, Garden City High School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 68 students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
