Midland - James Ronnie Burgess, 79, of Midland, passed away on June 26, 2024, at his residence. Born on January 20, 1945, in Pampa, TX, to Mary (Lewis) and Jim Burgess, Ronnie was known for his dedication to his work and his family. He graduated from Coahoma High School and went on to work for Bettle Womack Pipeline Construction for 45 years, eventually becoming the company president.

A member of Wilshire Baptist Church, Ronnie enjoyed playing poker, tending to his yard, and sharing his captivating stories. He held a special place in his heart for his Boxer, Cagney, and delighted in spending time with his great-grandchildren.

Survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn Burgess, children Tommy Burgess, Nancy Burgess, and LeAnn Pittenger, sister Patsy Swaim, grandchildren Dylan Bone, Tyler Burgess, Faith Gonzalez, Kaylee Baldwin, and great-grandchildren Jonas, Derek, Kinley, Elena, Rylee, Parker, and Lonnie, Ronnie is remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother, and sisters, Ronnie will be laid to rest at Veal Creek Cemetery in Graham, TX. The family suggests memorial donations to the Coahoma Athletic Booster Club in Ronnie's honor.

Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Pallbearers will include family members and close associates.
