Born on July 23, 1945, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Becraft graduated from Liberty High School in Missouri and pursued higher education at William Jewel College, University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Midland College.
Despite facing the effects of a stroke at age 19, Becraft dedicated herself to volunteer work, service, and travel throughout her life. She worked at the reception/information desk at Midland International Airport for a decade and was recognized as a "STAR" volunteer by the Midland Convention Visitors Bureau in 2010. Becraft also served as a receptionist at evening meetings of the Midland City Council.
Becraft's volunteerism extended to the Commemorative Air Force, where she received the Silver Magnolia Blossom award in 2001 and was later honored for her service as the High Sky Wing librarian.
She is survived by her brother Joe Becraft and his wife Sandi, nephew John Becraft and his wife Heather, niece Malinda Mills and her husband Jody, great nieces Addison and Emma Becraft, and great nephew Tristan Mills.
