Midland, Texas - Lawrence Lee "Larry" Satterfield, aged 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at his home in Midland. Born on November 17, 1956, in Hempstead, Long Island, New York, to Robb and Jean Satterfield, Larry was the younger brother of Marilyn. Larry's father's career as an Air Force pilot led the family to Mobile, Alabama, and eventually Midland, Texas.

A graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and Texas Tech University, Larry embarked on a successful career path that traversed commercial real estate, vegetarian entrepreneurship, and ultimately health food retail. Opening Natural Foods Market in 1995, Larry found his true calling in assisting customers with their health needs and nurturing a vibrant community at his store.

Remembered for his kindness, generosity, and humor, Larry left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. His love for music, especially jazz and rock and roll, his compassion for animals, particularly cats, and his devotion to family were hallmarks of his character.

Larry's peaceful passing was after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his parents, Larry is survived by his sister Marilyn Hightower, Marilyn's husband Bill, niece Ashley Hightower Cole, nephew Ryan Hightower, and their families. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Kate Lagus, Tracy Brunson, employees of Natural Foods Market, and Strawberry Fields Café for their support.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to organizations supporting animal welfare, children's healthcare, or a charity of choice. Arrangements are being handled by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be shared at www.npwelch.com.
