In the early 1950s, Mary moved to Midland where she met and married Arnulfo Gutierrez, the love of her life. Together, they raised five children whom she loved unconditionally. Mary enjoyed sewing, dining out, garage sales, BINGO, and spending time with her family. She had worked at Penney's and as a caregiver for the Bealle family.
Mary's warm and adventurous personality endeared her to all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed by those whose lives she touched. The family expresses gratitude to Sierra Molina, Beatrice Leal, and Mellisa Armijo for their dedication in caring for Mary.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Arnulfo Gutierrez, parents Antonio and Florencia Lara, five brothers, two sisters, and grandsons Jesse Neria and Ricky Velasco. She is survived by her sister Ramona Ybarra, son Ernest Gutierrez, daughters Teresa Silvas, Dora Bjorle, Margaret Pallanes, and Kathryn Trujillo, 15 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 17, from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm and Wednesday, September 18, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, with a rosary recited at 7:00 pm at Heavenly Gate Funeral Home. The funeral mass will take place on Thursday, September 19, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish & Shrine, followed by burial at Resthaven North.
